The History of the Durham family

Coleman Durham

     Coleman Durham was born June 19, 1794 in Albemarle Co., Virginia. He was the son of David Milton Durham and Jane Coleman. Coleman moved with his parents to Casey Co., Kentucky when he was around 4 years old. He married Mary Jane Wall circa 1814 in Casey Co. She was born circa 1792 in Kentucky.

      Coleman and Mary moved to Randolph Co., Missouri sometime after the 1840 census was taken. Two of their sons, George W. and John J. Durham were on the Randolph Co. 1840 census so they moved prior to when the census was taken in 1840.

          Coleman Durham died on June 20, 1849 in Randolph Co., Missouri age 54
         years and one day. He is buried in the Liberty cemetery in Cairo. Mary was
         living with her son William A. Durham during the 1860 and 1870 census.
         She was not on the 1880 census so she apparently died sometime after the
         1870 census while in her eighties.
