Derrick See Derrick See was the son of Peter See who was born in Mannheim,Germany in 1673 and Petronella de la Montagne who was christened March 14, 1671 in Brooklyn New York. The
See family was originally from Calais, Picardie Province, France
where the name was spelled Sy. As Huguenots, they fled France
and moved to Germany, name now spelled Sie, and then on to the
American Colonies where the name evolved into Derrick was born 1695 in New York City and moved with the rest of the See family to New Castle Co., Delaware. Derrick See's will was dated December 15, 1757 and recorded in New Castle Co., Delaware January 2, 1758. He named his eldest and youngest sons, namely Peter and Abraham and his sons Richard and William. He also named his grandson [great-grandson] William Burgess and his brother James See. Derrick's brother James See [Sr], christened March 10, 1704 in Westchester, New York, is believed to be the James See who married Lewis Jeton II's widow Rachel circa 1740s.
